Welcome to Luang Prabang
Pick up and welcome by our tour guide after your arrival in Luangprabang Airport. Transfer to our Hotel in the city for check in and lunch.
Visit National Museum (former Royal Palace), Wat Xieng Thong (the landmark temple of Luangprabang), Wat Visoun (the watermelon stupa temple) and drive out from the city to Ban Xang Khong (the handicraft and mulberry paper village) before walking up 328 steps of Phousi Hill for sunset viewing. Return to your Hotel for a break before enjoying dinner at Boulevard restaurant. Walk to the nearby night market for shopping.
Cruise to Tham Ting / Kwang Si Waterfalls
Take part in the morning Alms offering to the monks right in front of our Hotel. After breakfast, you will board "Nava Mekong", the biggest and most comfortable river boat in Luang Prabang. Enjoy a leisurely paced cruise up the Mekong River and peaceful sceneries to Tham Ting (The Buddha Cave, Pak Ou cave), located about 30 Km north of the city at the confluence of the Mekong River and Ou River. The cave is famous for housing Buddha images of varying ages, styles and sizes. A 5-course set lunch consumed by the previous Royal Family will be served on board on the return trip to the city.
The journey takes you further to the famous Kwang Si Waterfall where one of the turquoise pools awaits you to take a plunge, also see the Bears at the Bear Rescue Center. On the way back, you will visit Ban Na Uan, a Hmong village which specializes in Handicrafts and textiles sold in the city's night market. Arrive in Luangprabang in the evening and enjoy a traditional dinner. Shopping at night market or take some time out for Lao massage (not incl.in Package)
Full day adventure along the Nam Khan River
(Note: You can select one from our Full day adventure menu on day 3 as follows; Kayaking+Biking, Kayaking Biking+Trekking,Trekking, all in the Nam Khan river area)
This is a full day combination of mountain biking and kayaking along the Nam Khan River. First, you will bike on the dirt road out of the city into the countryside of Luangprabang. The 25 km. trail will visit the weaving village of Pha Nom, the grave of the French explorer "Henri Mouhot", all passing along the Nam Khan River, forest, rice field, pineapple field to the Ban Ean village and then exchange to a kayak awaiting for you with our experienced River tour guide.
Paddle along the scenic Nam Khan River with a visit at Tad Sae Waterfall for a Picnic lunch. Discover local village life along the river, fishermen, forested mountain, local agriculture, elephants at the elephant village, and finally the Kang Noon rapid. Return to Luangprabang around 5 p.m.
You will be free this evening to explore the town on your own.
Day 4: City Biking Experience, Ock Pop Tok, Ethnology MuseumB
Take a city bike andexplore the hidden attraction of Luangprabang city with us. Start from our hotel to the old city, morning market, the 450 years old lotus pond until you reach Ock Pop Tok (East meet West), the most renowned Textile Gallery & Weaving Center in Luangprabang, where refreshments await you. Ock Pop Tok restores the traditional dying and weaving of Lao Silk and creates job & opportunities to the Lao women. Get to understand and take a look at silkworms, natural dyes, weaving techniques of the Lao silk, motif and the cultures behind them with the scenic Mekong River in front of you.
Return to your hotel for Lunch and prepare for check-out. Visit the Traditional Art & Ethnology Museum, which displays the best collection of Lao textiles from the ethnic tribes before transfering to the Airport.
